Stampede is quite possibly one of the most valuable Shorthorn bulls ever imported from western Canada into the United States. From breed character and disposition, to foot shape, bone size, structural soundness, and even premiere calving ease without giving up mature size and scale, this dense-bodied son of Ultra 12J cannot be matched. Bred from generations of hard working easy fleshing, real world cattle that make native forage, water and snow their only nutritional means of survival, Stampede himself is a changer in terms of type and kind.
The maternal side of Stampede's pedigree is one of the greatest you'll find. His dam by Ultimate 8J is a medium sized cow that exhibits total power and performance in dark hided, long spined package. His maternal granddam by Gus 80C is a moderate framed, big bodied tank that has all the parts and pieces of a model Shorthorn female. Stampede, like his sire, makes feminine, nicely balanced, wedgy-shaped, heavy daughters that are angular through their shoulder, long fronted, level hipped, and big middled. Best of all, this asterisk-free bull has no Maine-Anjou influence. 2012 is going to be "The Year of the Stampede" in Greens Fork, Indiana.
